Technical Consultant (Senior)

senior consultant

What you'll do

As a Technical Consultant, you’ll lead the implementation of Farseer with our customers from start to finish. This is not a passive role. You’ll translate business needs into functional setups, design solutions from scratch, and ensure every implementation delivers measurable business value.

You’ll:

  • Lead end-to-end implementation projects from scoping through go-live, working directly with finance and controlling teams
  • Run client workshops, discovery sessions, and training to understand processes, define requirements, and drive adoption
  • Design and configure planning models, reporting structures, workflows, and user roles in the Farseer platform
  • Analyze customer data, map processes, and build scalable solutions that solve real business problems
  • Manage expectations and guide clients through change – navigating complexity, resistance, and ambiguity with confidence
  • Coordinate with product, success, and engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery and drive product improvements
  • Own documentation: implementation blueprints, configuration specs, user guides, and process frameworks
  • Travel occasionally for onsite workshops and go-live support (B category driver’s license required)

What we're looking for

We’re looking for a senior implementation professional with 5+ years of delivering complex software or enterprise solutions. You’ve led projects from scope to go-live, not just participated in them.

You might come from:

  • Senior consultant at IT, digital transformation, or enterprise software consultancy
  • ERP/CRM/DWH/SaaS implementation lead
  • Solution consultant or delivery consultant with cross-functional project exposure
  • Professional services role at a scale-up or enterprise software company

What matters is that you:

Lead, don’t just execute:

  • Run client workshops, discovery sessions, and training – you don’t just attend
  • Manage expectations and guide clients through change
  • Navigate difficult situations with confidence and build authority through clarity
  • Translate complex business needs into structured, actionable requirements

Structure ambiguous problems:

  • Design processes and frameworks from scratch when no standard solution exists
  • Use advanced Excel to model scenarios, validate logic, and structure complex information
  • Define what needs to be done rather than wait for detailed instructions
  • Operate confidently in data-heavy environments

Own outcomes, not just tasks:

  • Take full ownership of implementation outcomes, not just configurations
  • Operate with autonomy and minimal supervision
  • Deliver until the actual business problem is solved, not just until the task is complete
  • Make decisions confidently and stand behind them

Adapt fast:

  • Work effectively when processes aren’t predefined or environments are rapidly changing
  • Identify process gaps and proactively close them
  • Spot opportunities for improvement and initiate action

Have the technical foundation:

  • Know your way around data structures – dimensions, hierarchies, members, and how they connect
  • Understand core data concepts: fact vs dimension tables, star vs snowflake schemas
  • Experience with BI platforms, reporting systems, or data pipelines
  • Can specify and review technical requirements, even if you’re not building them yourself

Bonus (but not required)

  • Experience with FP&A, accounting, or controlling processes
  • Background in ERP, BI, EPM systems (Hyperion, PBCS, IBM TM1, Anaplan, Pigment)
  • Financial modeling expertise
  • Basic familiarity with PL/SQL, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Education in economics, finance, or IT – EFZG (especially Analysis & Planning, Accounting, Informatics), RIT, ZŠEM, Vern, EFST, etc.

Domain knowledge in FP&A, ERP, or BI is a plus – but what matters most is senior delivery competence and a strong consulting mindset.

This role is for you if:

✓ You’re comfortable in ambiguity and can figure things out
✓ You love problem-solving and building solutions that get used
✓ You take full ownership and operate with minimal supervision
✓ You can talk to CFOs and data engineers in the same day without losing your cool
✓ You make decisions confidently and stand behind them
✓ You care about doing the job right, not just closing a ticket
✓ You adapt quickly and proactively drive improvements

This role is NOT for you if:

✗ You’re a task executor waiting for detailed instructions
✗ You think “implementation” means following a predefined playbook
✗ You need processes to be fully defined before you can start
✗ You deliver configurations but don’t own business outcomes
✗ You avoid ambiguity and prefer clearly structured environments
✗ You’re here to play it safe and keep things running, not build and improve
