JOIN FARSEER AS A
Technical Consultant (Mid/Senior)

We’re hiring a Technical Consultant (Mid/Senior)
Farseer is a fast-growing startup building an enterprise software stack from first principles. We aim to become the underlying database and operating system for every business-critical app – from financial planning and analytics to accounting and beyond. Farseer empowers humans to build beautiful enterprise software with the help of AI.
Over the next decade, we’ll rebuild the enterprise nervous system. We’re starting with finance: a real-time, collaborative planning and reporting platform that turns finance teams from backward-looking number-crunchers into proactive strategists. Once that foundation is solid, the same AI-native core will extend to the rest of a company’s operational stack-reporting, supply chain management, manufacturing, procurement, revenue ops, you name it.
Our mission is to build enterprise software that people actually enjoy using. No more user-hostile screens or bloated workflows – just fast, intuitive tools that let humans focus on solving real business problems.
At Farseer, every hire is here to create business value, not busywork. Sometimes that means launching a new initiative; other times it means simplifying a process or automating what used to take days. Each project is led by its owner – scoping, driving, and shipping the solution. And with that autonomy comes real accountability: work isn’t done until the business problem is solved.
What you’ll do
As a Technical Consultant, you’ll be on the front lines of implementing Farseer with our customers. This is not a passive role. You’ll be the one translating business needs into functional setups, solving data puzzles, and making sure every implementation creates real impact.
You’ll:
- Lead and execute implementation projects from planning to go-live, working directly with finance and controlling teams.
- Set up planning models, reporting structures, workflows, and user roles in the Farseer platform.
- Analyze customer data, map processes, and design scalable solutions that actually work.
- Hold customer workshops, training sessions, and deep dives to ensure adoption and long-term success.
- Coordinate with product, success, and engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery and iterate where needed.
- Own documentation: from implementation blueprints to configuration specs and user guides.
- Occasionally travel for onsite implementation workshops and reviews (B category driver’s license required).
What we’re looking for
We know there’s no unicorn who knows it all, so if you have a solid base and the mindset to grow fast, we want to talk.
You might come from finance, IT, consulting, or data. What matters is that you:
- Have 3+ years of experience in FP&A, EPM, BI, ERP, accounting, controlling, or business analysis.
- Have worked on implementation projects – as a consultant, key user, or power user, and know how to get things done.
- Understand financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and can model them if needed.
- Are advanced in Excel and comfortable with complex formulas, models, and data manipulations.
- Know your way around data structures—dimensions, hierarchies, members, and how they all connect.
- Understand core DWH concepts: fact vs dimension tables, star vs snowflake schemas.
- Have worked with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI) or at least know what a dashboard should look like.
- Have dealt with data pipelines, procedures, or ETL jobs—if not building them, then at least specifying and reviewing.
Bonus (but not required)
- Experience with tools like Hyperion, PBCS, IBM TM1, Anaplan, or Pigment.
- Basic familiarity with PL/SQL, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Education in economics, finance, or IT—EFZG (especially Analysis & Planning, Accounting, Informatics), RIT, ZŠEM, Vern, EFST, etc.
- A rare combo of business orientation and technical curiosity. You don’t need to be a developer, but you’re not afraid to ask how things work under the hood.
This role is for you if:
- You’re comfortable in ambiguity and can figure things out.
- You love problem-solving and building things that actually get used.
- You don’t wait for someone else to fix things—you jump in.
- You can talk to CFOs and data engineers in the same day without losing your cool.
- You care about doing the job right, not just closing a ticket.
This role is not for you if:
- You’re waiting for a detailed task list instead of figuring out what needs to be done.
- You think “implementation” means sitting in meetings and forwarding Jira tickets.
- You avoid numbers, finance, or data structures because “that’s not your job.”
- You’re here to play it safe and keep things running, not build and improve.
